To get to Costa Rei Free Beach Residence (Via Marco Polo 8) use the map I have included on the page, the route measures about 70Km and takes about 1 hour 15 minutes by car.

The fastest and shortest way to get to Costa Rei is the SS 125 var Orientale Sarda road (SS 125 var).

There are TWO OTHER ROADS that lead to Costa Rei.

SP17: provincial road 17 is the one that runs along Cagliari’s Poetto, Quartu and Margine Rosso, continuing on to Flumini, Terra Mala, Cala Regina, Mai Pintau, Geremeas, Torre delle stelle, Solanas and Villasimius, from here it then branches off into Sp17 (inland leading to San Pietro) and Sp18 the latter a continuation of the coastal road passing through Punta Molentis, Cala Sinzias, Sant’Elmo and then arriving at Costa Rei.

SS125: the Campuomu.It originates in Cagliari, from the northeast of the city, and heads toward the east of the island remaining inland, passing through the locality of San Gregorio, the gorge of rio Cannas and San Priamo, after which it arrives near the coast. It then continues northward on a wider route and passes through the towns of Muravera, Villaputzu, and the small hamlet of Quirra. It then enters the province of Nuoro (Ogliastra), always remaining a few kilometers from the coast; it passes through the towns of Tertenia, Cardedu, Bari Sardo, and Tortolì.

The Sp17 is perfect for admiring the coastline while the SS125 is very winding so full of hairpin bends and hairpin curves immersed in the impassable nature of the inland area (no cell phone reception to know!) challenging and dangerous (they rally there).
Both I recommend NOT DOING THEM AT NIGHT! and in bad weather, especially SS125.

State Road 554 bis Cagliaritana (SS 554 bis), also known as Nuova Cagliaritana or NUOVA 554 connects the Cagliari metropolitan area with the SS125VAR leading to Costa Rei and Muravera.

Important is the junction “exit Strada Statale125var Orientale Sarda” to pay close attention because it is the one that will take you to the new road that connects Muravera and then Costa Rei.
If you want to take the coastal and scenic road (SP17) to Villasimius you will simply have to skip the junction and go straight ahead.
